Bullets Don't Fly

A Supply Marine's Memoir

From a troubled kid surviving on a smuggled sandwich to Marine Corps supply sergeant across Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Korea. This raw military memoir reveals how supply logistics shaped leadership lessons.

Three Turning Points

01

The Storm

June 13, 2012: A tornado ripped through our Dallas neighborhood and tore off half our roof. When the insurance adjuster said we owed $3,500, I felt sick. Six-figure salary, and I couldn't cover it. I had to beg my boss for an advance. That's when I knew the real storm wasn't the weather.

02

The System

In the Marines, I learned that moving supplies across three countries wasn't about being smart or lucky. It was about systems that worked under pressure. When my finances collapsed completely, I went back to those basics. No fancy strategies, just the same step-by-step approach that kept Marines fed and equipped in the desert.

03

The Mission

My grandmother taught me care when she smuggled me a sandwich during three days locked in my room. The Marines taught me discipline I never had. Bankruptcy taught me humility I never wanted. Now I share what actually works when you're rebuilding from nothing, because I've been there.

"Finally, someone who's actually been broke. David's story about the tornado and the $3,500 deductible hit me hard—I've been there. His honesty made me feel less alone in my struggles."

— Sarah M.

"The military logistics approach to money management changed everything for me. Real strategies that work when you're starting from nothing, not theory from someone who's never been poor."

— Jennifer L.
